El pase escolar no es para pasear ni carretear

As a citizen of a country obsessed with signs, the neverending plethora of signs in Chile is, astonishing, even for me.
On the infrequent buses, I see at least three no smoking signs in different font and different styles; as if one did not suffice - someone has gone to the length of preparing a different design to please the varied tastes or fashions of another person. Another sign tells me not to eat or drink on the bus, another informs passengers about loud music and below them the codes to the government legislation to back up the rule. Another informs users of price changes due to rising fuel costs. Another states that children over the age of seven must give up their seats to adults or pay adult fare, attention to the user; drunken passengers must not board. And I give up translating the others, instead counting at least nine magic trees hanging from the ceiling that I can just about see through the boxes piled at the front.
