Day 1: On through the foothills of the Andes
We camp at 3300m above sea level in a canyon offering stunning views of the milky way. The valley is pointing South and at the end of the valley the Southern Cross is pointed out to us using a laser pen. "Count four lengths of the distance from each star and project it across and then go ninety degrees South; that's how mariners found their way before GPS."
The moon lights up the other side of the valley and and the very top of the valley is lit up.
I'm exhausted; time for bed.
I've been carrying my tent for 3 months and this is the first time I've used it; and where else could be better than this?
